NCS Fluid Handling Systems is growing the team of skilled technicians and project managers to continue to support and serve all construction and municipal markets across Canada in the dewatering, water treatment, erosion and sediment control as well as river crossings, storage tank and pipeline hydro-static testing markets in energy and mining as well.

NCS Fluid Handling Systems and partners also provide sewer bypass, sand pointing, eductor dewatering, well pointing systems, site water management services and water filtration all all types, Canada wide.

Field Technician

Role Summary:

As a Field Technician at NCS Fluid Systems, you will play a crucial role in servicing both temporary and permanent water treatment sites, ensuring adherence to local regulations and environmental requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in Environmental Science, Industrial Water Treatment, and/or Chemistry. The role is primarily based in the Lower Mainland, with some job sites requiring travel and occasional out-of-town assignments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain water treatment systems at various sites
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and site-specific requirements
  • Generate detailed service reports and log sheets for each site visit
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment as needed
  • Communicate professionally with clients, engineers, and other professionals
  • Conduct site audits to confirm adherence to remediation best practices
  • Respond to on-call and emergency situations as required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 1-2 years of previous work experience, preferably in the Water Treatment or Construction industry
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred:

  • Experience in Water Treatment and/or Environmental fields
  • Field or site experience
  • Familiarity with environmental treatment processes
  • Experience working with chemicals is an asset

  • Resilient work ethic and willingness to complete tasks effectively
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Training & Development:

Comprehensive training will be provided in water management and operational systems, along with safety training to ensure effective and secure work practices.

Work Environment:

This role involves working primarily at diverse water management sites across different locations. You will encounter various environments, from urban settings to remote areas, collaborating closely with team members to ensure the effective operation of water treatment systems.

Junior Buyer – Nisku or Langley

NCS Fluid Systems, a leader in water management services across Western Canada, is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our team. We are flexible on work location and depending on the suitable candidate we would hire in Langley, BC or Nisku, AB. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review requisitions from internal customers, including Corporate Team, Shop Employees, and Asset Management Team.
  • Obtain quotes from preferred suppliers and coordinate the requisition/purchase order approval process, adhering to the Delegation of Authority Matrix.
  • Generate and issue purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Expedite supplier orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate material receiving and site allocation in collaboration with Shop staff.
  • Participate in internal Bill of Materials (BOM) review meetings.
  • Follow up on and resolve order discrepancies with internal stakeholders, freight carriers, and suppliers.
  • Retain procurement documents on the corporate drive, including quotations, purchase orders, technical specifications, and receiving documents.
  • Review minimum/maximum stocking inventory levels to meet business needs.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material verifications as needed.
  • Coordinate material returns according to Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in Business Development, Project Execution, and Shared Services within a procurement environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and Adobe, as well as OneDrive.
  • Familiarity with purchasing software, such as 4CastPlus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in work.
  • Commitment to following processes and procedures in the requisition-to-pay workspace.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Completion of the Supply Chain SMT program or enrollment in the SCMP designation program is an asset.
